What is the process to get Netc N·VISION RFID labels?

• You can design, approve and purchase custom Netc N·VISION RFID labels in real-time from Netc at the Netc Label Architect.

How are RFID labels different from regular barcode labels?

• To the naked eye they look the same except for an optional RFID logo on the label.
• N·VISION RFID media barcode labels do not need "line of sight" to be read, while barcode labels must be "seen" by the barcode scanner in order to be read.

Are RFID labels laminated?

• Netc N·VISION RFID media barcode labels are made of polyester material, the same as regular Netc media barcode labels, and do not require an over-laminate.

How do you affix the RFID labels to the tape?

• Netc N·VISION RFID labels are applied manually to the tapes just like regular media barcode labels. As a value-added service, Netc will print, enable and properly affix the labels to tapes purchased from us for free.
• No special equipment is required to affix the labels to the tapes.

How long do RFID labels last?

• The printed label comprising barcode and human readable data, face stock and adhesive will last more than 30 years. These are the label components currently used by tape libraries.
• The Netc N·VISION RFID chip manufacturer states minimum EEPROM data retention of 2 years and 10,000 write cycles. Under normal environmental operating conditions, the projected life of the RFID chip is significantly greater.
